Day 9 - Now we have a dilemma

So my complaint about not finding a good bible study to do while my OCD is in effect with the other one has lead to a dilemma. I found a GREAT study today on parenting BUT, it's a sermon series and there are 7 of them! Guess Beth Moore is on hold for another week while

I finish this series...that is unless I listen to them all this weekend! :-)

Got our run in early this am so it wouldn't be too hot and that way we can go to the grocery after lunch. Swimming with our church family tonight too so double the workout today!

My Story

A year ago, August 2012, I was in the best shape of my adult life. I was running 3-4 times a week, 3-5 miles at a time. I may not have been fast, but I completed each time without walking. I was holding steady at a healthy weight. Then, it happened...I made the decision to have surgery on my foot to remove a bunion that was causing me discomfort with my runs. What I soon discovered is that an error had been made and my large toe was no longer operating properly. A second surgery to attempt to fix the problem was scheduled for 6 weeks after the first and then it was back to physical therapy. This too was unsuccessful. All of this trauma to my foot caused months (close to 9 months) of swelling and pain. I walked with a limp because other muscles were trying to compensate for the inner part of my foot not working. I tried multiple supports and braces to ease my discomforts in hopes of getting back to exercise but never found one that worked. Afraid of what pain I would experience after a workout, I never even tried. Needless to say, I was no longer in that great shape I was prior to surgery. I found myself drowning my sorrows in food and sleeping. I was depressed and angry.
A few months ago, I came to the realization that the lawyer I had hired to sue the doctor was not going to fix my problems, so I called him up and dropped the case. I finally opened my eyes and recognized that there is only 1 man that can truly heal me - spiritually and physically - so I cried out to Him...I need you, Lord I need you! That brings us to today, August 1, 2013 - nearly a year later and I am FINALLY going to let the ultimate Healer do what He does best!

And so the journey begins...this blog will serve as my diary to hold myself accountable of each aspect of my total body transformation. At the bottom, you will see my progress each week. If you so wish, you may leave me encouragement and advice in the comments section. Most importantly, I ask that you pray for God's healing in my life!
